Mind and its Potential

'Luminous Mind' is a feature documentary that explores the profound convergence between science and the mystical traditions of all of the world’s major faiths. It will take the form of a road trip as the host tracks down contemplatives and scientific visionaries in an attempt to gain direct insight into mystical states of consciousness and what they reveal about the ultimate nature of reality. This film won the SPAA (Screen Producers Association of Australia) Fringe pitching competition in 2005.

The Shamatha Project is the most extensive scientific study on the effects of meditation ever undertaken. Participants will engage in prolonged periods of intensive meditation under the guidance of a highly experienced meditation teacher. A team of scientists will conduct a range of tests to determine the effects intensive meditation has on the mind, emotions and the body. This will take place in the USA in 2007 and The Netherlands in 2008.
